I love coffee, I really do. I have a Keurig coffee pot which has really fueled my addiction. So when they had a Coffee swap on SCS I had to join. Here's the card. I used Hero Arts stamps, which was my first time using clear stamps, I loved it!!!!

MEGA swap

So I had all the best intentions to do all kinds of things today but instead I went to the gym, kudos for me!!! Actually it's been so long that the gym now has a cardio theater and I watched Bourne Supremecy while I ran. How cool is that! So anyway I got my mega swap card done and I think I'll be able to get these done next weekend I am going to cut them tonight and bring them to work tomorrow to do before my meeting. :)

I have sufficiently managed to join so many swaps that I don't remember so yesterday I put all of their due dates on my calendar. I used to have a rule that I would sign up for one, finish and sign up for another. Hmmmmmm........what happened here? Well I plan on using the long weekend to bang some out and I am super excited my SU order came yesterday with all of my fun stuff!! So keep an eye peeled. There will be lots posted soon!

Purple Swap

Well the challenge for this swap was to use only purple and one other color. I saw the new Stampin Up catalog and some of the sets with open designs I felt a little inspired. I have joined about 10 swaps so I am going to be busy busy busy.

Recipe:
Cardstock-Lovely Lilac, whisper white, basic black
Ink-Almost Amethyst, Lovely Lilac, Basic Black

It's been a month....well almost. It's been brutal. My little one was sick with a stomache virus, bronchitis, and ear infection, then I went away from work, and then dum da dum dum.....JURY DUTY. Hello Nutso. But I have had a very productive weekend. Not only is my house clean, not just straight like clean clean, but I spent the last 3 nights stamping. Lovely.

The brown card I made 12 of for a swap. We could only use brown and 1 color. I chose bashful blue. Neutrals didn't count. I loved it!!!!

Stamping Tile

It's easier then you think. Well maybe it's easier then I thought. I scoured SCS to get all the info I could before I tried this. Shown are two different kinds of tile. The one with the flower is tumbled marble. About 49 cents each at home depot and time going through to find ones not so pitted. The one with the saying is a faux weathered. About 32 cents each.

Here's the difference:

Tumbled- weathered look, much harder to do words, no mistakes allowed (as you can see from the shadow on mine), Is porous so is soaks up "sweat" from your drinks if you use it as a coaster.

Faux Weathered-If you make a mistake it wipes right off with stazon cleaner, much smoother, non-porus so it could be slick if it gets wet I haven't tried.

Here's the basic steps I used:

1. Wash the tile

2. Stamp with stazon (don't forget to mask if you want to use more then one color.

3. color in with versa marker.

4. Using a makeup applicator cotton swab (the kind with the sharp tip) color with the pastels.

I did one tile baking it like some recommend and one without so this is where I baked for 20 minutes at 375 degrees.

5. Coat with 3 coats of Krylon, wait 10 minutes between each coat-make sure you open the windows.

I don't see a difference between baking and not except that baking takes longer. It didn't make the pastels "stay" like some said it would. Maybe I missed something.

Anyway I scrubbed with water after they dried and the ink stayed.

Here are the cards for this months stamper's 11...... I bought half the SU! occasions mini and I am going to try and not order the other half this time. There is just so much I LOVE!

The top card was made using the dahlia fold seen here.

I think I have a brown thing going on. Which makes me think of the awful brown, orange, and yellow plaid wallpaper in my parents kitchen and think.....in 20 years will I think "Oh God what was I thinking with these colors"...maybe but oh well.

It was a long long night last night with one sick little girl. So with the best intentions yesterday I went to work with camera in tow housing all the pictures of my RAK and DSS swap cards I worked on. However the camera, and the pictures are at work. Hopefully tomorrow. I did use my new sets I just ordered from the occaisions mini which I LOVE!

Maybe while little Missy naps today I can get some more done.
